JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has commissioned the full 150 MW Tidong Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district ahead of its planned October 2026 timeline. The run-of-river project, developed through Tidong Power Generation Private Limited, has a long-term power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd for the supply of 75 MW during the May–October period at a tariff of ₹5.57/kWh.
The project marks JSW Energy's fourth hydro asset in Himachal Pradesh, strengthening its position as India's largest private-sector hydropower operator. With this addition, the company's installed capacity has increased to approximately 13.9 GW, including 445 MW commissioned in Q1 FY27 across wind, solar, and hydro projects. The company expects the project to contribute positively to earnings from FY27, supported by favorable tariffs, seasonal generation, and operational synergies with its nearby Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Plant.
JSW Energy currently has a total locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW and energy storage capacity of 29.6 GWh, and remains focused on achieving 30 GW generation capacity, 40 GWh energy storage capacity by 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2050.
